Overflowing Toilet Water Disaster
It was a river…a tsunami…just so overwhelming. I screamed at my kids to quickly get my husband upstairs and through this whole time the water is still flowing. My husband runs upstairs, takes one look and it quickly registers the severity of the situation. He bends down and shuts off the water line and stops the water flow. Boy at this point I feel like an idiot. That’s all I had to do to stop any further water spill. I just looked at him like Lucy O’ball dazed and confused. It was time to deal with the aftermath.
Amazingly my husband had a wet vac in the house. Its funny the type of equipment guys buildup in the garage for emergencies. So my husband sucks up the water off the floors and what seeped into the carpet of the bedroom. It all seemed okay. Damp. I had question going through my head after the water damage fiasco. Is the damage cleaned up and are we out of the woods? What about our flooring? Would mold start to evolve. What about smells forming from the water damage. Panic started to settle in.
So as the days went on after the whole water flow incident. I literally lost sleep. Keep in mind the water flow was clear water; however, that doesn’t mean that bacteria wont start forming. I could smell the mustiness in my carpet. My flooring started peeling up. A water drip had started from the top floor through the flooring to the bottom floor. And what about mold starting to form and spread? I couldn’t take anymore. I had to call water damage professional. This was just a pure water damage nightmare!
I just need to stop suffering this incident and hand it over to a water restoration company that would come in inspect the damages, check for mold repair and restore. Just take the problem out of my hands. I live in the Phoenix area and called Rescue Restoration a water damage cleanup company. They came out pretty quickly accessed the damages. Gave me a reasonable quote. They even suggested they could bill my insurance direct. I felt so relieved. The work took about a day or so and we were back to normal. Relief!
